My Story

Your life is as

good as your mindset.

I believe that when you feel good, you do good ... and you become a better person to the people around you.

I also believe that we all have a privilege in our lifetime, which is to be who we really are.

Isn't it crazy when you hear something so simple and it hits you at your core and stops you in your tracks?

If you've experienced anything like this before, then you will probably relate to my story.  I remember the very first time I heard this phrase "Be Who You Really Are" by Oprah  Winfrey.  I recall asking myself - what does she really mean?  I am already being myself!  Who else could I possible be?

The more I thought about it, the more I began to question myself.  I wanted to know more about the person inside this outer shell who gave off these positive vibes to everyone around her.  I also wanted to know what was causing people to gravitate towards me and how can I live up to these expectations.  It prompted me to ask some serious questions about myself.  What was my purpose in this life.  What legacy do you want to leave behind.

When I couldn't find the answer within, I began to dig deeper to find "me".  I knew that if I couldn't clearly define these aspect of my life, then I wouldn't be living an authentic and fulfilling one.

It wasn't long before I realized that all I had to do was to get comfortable with being uncomfortable and get the courage to move our of my own way so that I can find joy and at peace for having owning and being all that I am truly meant to be.

This is Me!

If you're on my page, thank you for visiting and since you're here, let's get to know each other more.  Who knows, we may have something in common.

I love, love, love to turn my music up real loud and dance to any type of music and every now and again I chill out to some classic Jazz or Country Music to settle me down.

I'm an avid writer and have a secret passion for photography.  In my opinion, the perfect Friday night is spent on my sofa watching a romantic comedy while eating pizza and sipping on cheap wine because after the first glass, it will taste expensive anyway.

My all time favourite movie is Couples Retreat  and if you need to ask why, I will just say that a girl can never get enough yoga (wink).   I love coconut anything and chocolate anything and if you can believe it or not, I'm a lousy singer.  However, I do pride myself in the  fact that I know every song on the charts, so if you give me a microphone, I will immediately morph into Diana Ross  or Whitney Houston and sing my heart out.  Oh, one last thing....I am obsessed with essential oils, yoga, meditation and anything wellness.

Owning your purpose!

Once you reach a stage in your life where you are able to own your purpose, it's the most liberating feeling.  It's that supreme moment of destiny.

Becoming a Coach came as second nature to me as it fell in line with my values - helping people.  In 2014, I embarked on a wellness journey which mainly involved a daily fitness regime, conscious eating (eating healthier) and motivating individuals to do the same.

I started off by helping a small group of people to make positive lifestyle changes in order to improve their way of living, to eventually working one-on-one with individuals as a Motivational Fitness Coach.  At that time, I was working at my corporate job and I remember the days when I knew that I should be more focused on my duties,  but instead, I was more keen on helping the staff members in the lunch room.

I often conducted quick coaching sessions with my co-workers and in the summertime, I would be hauling a few co-workers out for a 30 minute work out during the lunch hour.  I was more focused on helping people, rather than helping the Corporation grow.

It was not until one of my colleagues brought me to one side and said "Maxine, you don't belong here.  I see you somewhere else.  Why are you not out there coaching people"?   Talk about that famous Oprah "ah-ha" moment.  Needless to say, from that moment, I knew that I had to listen to that voice inside that told me to follow my passion, own my purpose and take a leap of faith.

During my training, what stuck out the most were two things - our "habits" (which is basically what we do and how we think on a daily basis) and how we react to our circumstances.  I provide practical coaching techniques that is easy to follow to help you to break those habits that are blocking you from creating a life balance, while learning to remove any excuses or self-doubt about your full life potential.

Taking care of the whole body!

Each day is a learning process for me and during this journey, I'm still learning and growing.  The most important element of my growth is that gaining clarity about my life purpose has taught me the importance of taking care of my 'whole body' and discovering what motivates me and what I'm truly passionate about - to serve my clients.

My mission is to help you learn to take care of how you feel - mind, body and spirit.  I work with you to help you learn to let go of your excessive expectations of what others think of you and start manifesting a more positive attitude towards life.

Remember, your health is a priority and if you want to be of service to someone else, you will need to take care of you first.

Wishing you a Balanced Life, Always!
